Books I Read On Holiday!

by - May 24, 2017

Today I thought I would do a post about the books I read on holiday and what I thought of them. I love going on holiday because I get back into reading and try to read as many books as I can, I wish I had taken more.

1. Where Am I Now? - Mara Wilson

Ever since I was little Matilda has been my favourite film. I wish I could tell you how many times I've seen it, it's far in the hundreds. I still love watching it now. I saw Mara had a book coming out so I asked for it for Christmas, I read the first few pages and then put it back on my book shelf and completely forgot to read it. So when out holiday was coming up I knew that was the first one I was going to read. If you love Matilda or any of the films Mara has been in, I would suggest giving it a read. I love it, it helped me get to know Mara more and find out things I never knew. She tells stories of what it was like working on Matilda and the cast, I just remember smiling whilst reading the chapter that was all about Matilda.

2. Girl Online Going Solo - Zoe Sugg

I do love books that are aimed at teenagers, I find them so cute and always a happy read. I have read Zoe's previous 2 books and I love them, so of course I was going to read the 3rd. The love story of Penny and Noah is really cute. I won't give any spoilers for those who haven't read it yet, but you just want them to live happily ever after. I love all the characters in this book, Elliot is my favourite. I also love that her books are set in Brighton, I've been to Brighton many times and so I can picture the places whilst I'm reading it. I would definitely recommend Zoe's books.

3. Everything Everything - Nicola Yoon

This book was SO good. One of my favourites that I read this holiday. Everything Everything is about a girl who cannot go outside her house, she is allergic to the world. She has spent her whole life inside. She starts talking to this boy named Olly who has just moved in across the street and from then on everything changes. I would recommend reading this as the film comes out in the UK in August I believe. I did read this book quite quickly, but it is worth the read. She also has a book out called "The sun is also a star" let me know if you've read it as I'm interested in reading it myself.

4. Pretty Little Liars - Sara Shepard

Anyone that knows me knows that I love Pretty Little Liars. I am up to date with the whole series and I love it! I have never read the books but Abbie bought this on holiday so I thought I'd give it a read. Some things are slightly different to the series, such as how they describe how characters look and most of them smoke in the books. But apart from that it was all pretty much the same, I kind of want to read more of the books, are they worth reading?

5. The Couple Next Door - Shari Lapena

Abbie bought this at the airport as we ordered 13 Reasons Why from Amazon and it never turned up. Once she was done with it I thought I'd give it a read as I had read all my books. It's a book about a couple who go to their next door neighbours house for a dinner party, and their baby girl goes missing from her crib. I must admit I thought the book was good, but not great. I spent the whole time reading it getting way too impatient to know what happened. I wasn't sure on the ending either, it wasn't an ending I expected. I saw this book had good reviews but for me I wouldn't rate it that high.

Thank you for reading! I am on the hunt for more books to read, if you have any suggestions please leave me a comment below as I'll be reading and looking up on any books suggested, Thank you!
