 Journal By Shannon

Okay so I've never done an album review before, but why not start now when all my favourite artists are coming out with albums! I have loved Fifth Harmony for so long now, this is their first album as a four piece and let me tell you now this is honestly their best album. I didn't have high expectations as I thought Down and Angel were okay, but the rest of the songs completely changed my mind.

1. Down (feat. Gucci Mane)
I am currently listening to these songs as I write this review to make sure I review them honestly. Down is a BOP, I am sitting here dancing in my seat as I type this. The song is a bit repetitive, I do wonder how many times they actually say down. This was their first single from the album and I do think it was a good choice for a single.

2. He Like That
This isn't one of my favourites. The lyrics are a bit strange the whole "pumps in the bump". It is quite catchy and I feel like it would grow on me. Although when I listen to it all I can think of is the music video.... 😳

3. Sauced Up
A TUNE. I knew this album was gonna be so good once I heard this song. I feel this one would be so good live. I get such a good vibe from this one.

4. Make You Mad
The beginning reminds me of a game or a computer, no idea why. But OH MY GOD this one is SO good. One of my favourites for sure. The chorus is my favourite, I'M GONNA MAKE YOU MISS ME, I'M GONNA MAKE YOU GO MAD, I'M GONNA MAKE SURE I'M THE BEST YOU EVER HAD! Ally slays this one.

5. Deliver
BOY DID THEY DELIVER. Dinah is coming through with those vocals throughout the whole song.

6. Lonely Night
Another amazing song. The chorus is so good. Dinah once again slays this song. Lauren's vocals are raspy and heavenly as per usual. If you don't like this song then bye bye, bye bye. 👋🏽

7. Don't Say You Love Me
This song is going to be amazing live, the girls vocals on this are so strong. Lauren started off the song perfectly. The whole song is perfection, I feel it could be stripped down even more live.

8. Angel
This also isn't one of my favourites. I usually have new songs that come out on repeat but with this one I did listen to it a few times but that was it. I love all the girls verses though. I love Lauren and Normani in this song and the music video. The only thing I hate about this song is the music at the end (2:20).

9. Messy
Listen from 0:30 if you don't think it sounds like "It wasn't me" by Shaggy you're lying. It's not a bad thing though because this is in the top 3 for me. I haven't figured out which ones I like most yet but this is up there. Once again Ally, Lauren, Dinah and Normani all sound amazing.

10. Bridges
Such a beautiful song. A song that is so relatable to everything going on the world right now. I feel I'd cry happy tears if I heard this live. It's a very happy, positive song, one you need to listen to.

This album is by far their best one yet, it really is. I would recommend you buying it, I'm not being biased I mean it. I am so proud of the girls, they worked so hard and came out with such an incredible album. I only wish it had more songs!

I wanted to share my experience in New York City. I went back in September 2014 and it was the best city I've been to yet. I have always loved American things so stepping off the plane and being in a city I've wanted to visit for so long was the best feeling. I went with one of my best friends Hannah and this was our first holiday without any adults! So of course, we chose to go to the other side of the world.

We flew with Virgin and the flight was lovely. We watched loads of films, I listened to music and done a few sudoku's and word searches. They even give out mini fab lollies now which was one of the highlights of the flight. When we arrived my friend got taken off by security which was the scariest thing ever, so don't have your phone in your hand as that was the reason! 40 minutes later she came out, I even cried I had no idea what to do I just stood waiting for ages. Eventually we got our transfer and head to the hotel. We stayed in the Manhattan At Times Square hotel, I would 10/10 recommend. The room was lovely and spacious, the bed was the comfiest bed I have ever slept in, I still stand by that. The hotel was so close to Central Park and Times Square.

Once unpacked, we were both so tired and feeling a little strange because it was super late in the UK but only around 6pm in New York. We didn't want to stay in the hotel and sleep we had to at least go take a stroll to Times Square, which is exactly what we did. It was incredible, everything was lit up, it was so busy but that's a part of Times Square. It was all so surreal, we couldn't quite believe we had travelled all the way to America by ourselves and paid for this amazing holiday.

After a very long sleep which was needed. We walked through Times Square again which was much quieter in the morning. We got the subway to Brooklyn just to go to the Walmart there, stocked up on American sweets and other bits and bobs. We then headed back and went up the Empire State building. Unfortunately it was cloudy but that didn't matter to us, the view was still incredible!!

We also went to Grand Central station and got some Baked by Melissa bitesize cupcakes to snack on. Which by the way are the most amazing cupcakes you have to get them! When I go back next year I am getting way more than 6. 6 is not enough.

That evening we did a lot of shopping in Times Square, I think I had at least 7 bags. We saved for so long so we deserved to treat ourselves.

The next day we went to Ground Zero, where the Twin Towers once stood. The memorial was beautiful and so moving, it was very quiet and peaceful.

We wanted to see the Statue of Liberty afterwards so thought we'd get a boat and do that. We didn't realise the Staten Island free ferry didn't take you there, I have no idea why we thought it did but we went straight past it, it was quite a funny moment but at least we had a nice little boat journey.

As we were only in NYC monday to friday we had a lot we wanted to do, as I'm writing this I'm thinking we did so much in one day but that was why. We didn't even do all the things we wanted to I definitely wish we went for a week instead. Carrying on with that day, we went to Little Italy/China Town/The Soho area. We found the Dash store, the Friends building and even a Christmas shop.

The next morning we went to Madame Tussauds, I've never been to any before. We got these NYC passes which you can find online that give you entry to pretty much all the places we went to on this trip, so I would really recommend them they include so much. We met some of our favourite celebs such as Selena Gomez, the Jonas Brothers.. unfortunately Taylor was getting her hair washed.

In Central Park we went to some of the fountains, such as the Friends one which looks nothing like the Friends one. We also went to the Zoo there but I wouldn't go again.

Dylan's Candy Bar. Now this place was amazing, it has 3 floors, the first 2 are full of sweets and it smells like heaven, the top floor is a cafe. It's so good and so many celebrities have been there too, they had all signed stuff on the wall so we had fun looking at that. They even had a Photo Booth which of course we had to use.

That evening we went to the Top of the Rock. It is the best view of the city hands down. We actually went up there on the anniversary of 9/11. You could see two light beams where the Twin Towers once stood which was such an incredible thing to witness. I am so happy we decided to do that on that particular day. Enjoy some amazing photos I took of the amazing view.

Definitely a city worth visiting. New York definitely has my heart.
Until next time NYC...

Hi guys! In September I am going to Europe for 2 weeks. Me and my friend Jamey are going Interrailing. We aren't doing your typical backpack traveling. We're taking cabin size suitcases and staying in hotels/Airbnb's. I am so excited to visit some countries I've never been to before! We will be taking the Eurostar to Paris, then we go to Amsterdam, Switzerland, Venice and Rome.

Paris, France

So our first stop is Paris. We booked a really cute Airbnb for Paris, we've both never used Airbnb before. We'll be spending the first day in the city, going to see the Eiffel Tower and the Arc De Triomphe. I love taking photos so I am so excited to document this trip and post about it. We won't have much time in the city as we are going to Disneyland Paris the next day, but we don't mind because we've both been to Paris before. Disneyland Paris are celebrating their 25th anniversary and I am SO excited to go. I need to limit myself on buying things too, luckily pins are small so I can buy plenty of those. I have to get some anniversary ears of course!

Amsterdam, The Netherlands

The next morning we'll be making our way to Amsterdam. I've never been before, literally everyone I know has already been. We have a few ideas of what we want to do such as go to the Anne Frank house, sex museum, red light district and taking cute photos of canals and bikes. If anyone has any restaurant suggestions for any of the cities we go to or things to do, that would be much appreciated! We're staying in a hotel that's just outside the central bit, Amsterdam hotels get booked so far in advanced so we got that booked asap. We might even get bikes to travel around.

Bern, Switzerland

Okay so Switzerland we booked a super cute Airbnb, they even have a hot tub! We're here for around 4 days I believe so suggestions on things to do would be so helpful. We want to take a trip to somewhere with a big lake, we've looked at Interlaken and that looks beautiful. We don't have any ideas on what to do in Switzerland although it's one we're most excited for. Our train journey to get here is 8 hours long but I am sure it's going to be worth it.

Venice, Italy

Venice looks so incredibly beautiful, I've never been to Italy so I am excited to visit not one but two cities. Where is the best place to get pizza? Pizza should taste best in Italy so if you know anywhere that sells great food then let me know. I can't wait to take some amazing photos here, possibly go on one of the boats?

Rome, Italy

So much stuff to do in Rome! We have so many tourist sights we want to see in Rome. It is such a historical city with so much to do. We're definitely going to the Colosseum and Trevi fountain. We have a lovely host for our Airbnb who has given us lots of restaurant suggestions. It was so helpful for us both, hence why I am hoping anyone reading this can give us suggestions on any places to visit.

I know this was a short post but we go in a month so your comments would be very much appreciated! We are so excited to explore each of these cities. We'd love to know any cute cafe's? Cute photo spots? I do love an instagramable location!! I've never done anything like this before so I am so excited to explore!

I've also made a travel Instagram as I love traveling and I love photography. I will be able to update every day when we go, so please feel free to give it a follow!

Thanks for reading!

Brighton Pride was mine and Abbie's first ever pride together! We've wanted to celebrate pride together for years but never got the chance to. It was such an amazing experience and I am so excited to share just a few of my favourite photos from the weekend.

Pride is all about celebrating who you are and embracing who you are. You're able to feel safe and accepted surrounded by a bunch of people who are just like you. This is why I love pride so much, we don't have that feeling of people looking at us because we're holding hands. No one cares at pride, you can just do you and everyone loves it.

We watched the parade first which was really good. Everyone was in such a happy upbeat mood. They gave out so many stickers and freebies during the parade we ended up covered in about 10 stickers each.

The parade is free to go watch, I would recommend going the vibe is always the best as it's the start of all the pride celebrations. After the parade we went to pizza hut and it started raining, luckily it didn't last long and the sun started shining again. We headed back to check into our hotel which was right opposite where their festival thing was being held. Once we checked in and added more glitter we headed over the road. The festival looked so good, there were tons of rides, different music stages, loads of food stalls and a little market area.

There was a Ford stall that did some marble body art which we obviously had to get done. There were loads of free fun things to do.

Here's some cute photos from the festival and how it looked.

I went with my beautiful girlfriend and one of my amazing best friends. We got some super cute photos together and also met Becky Hill who performed that night, she was lovely!

We were knackered that day as we had been up since 5am. We left a little bit before the festival finished and slept like babies. The next day we spent the late morning down the seafront and on the pier. We went for some really yummy chips on the pier and failed at trying to win a soft toy. We also went for ice cream and took some cute photos of Brighton. If you ever get the chance to go to Brighton pride you have to go! It's one of the best atmospheres.

Thanks for reading!! See you next Sunday.
